An alternative playgroup that focuses on children aged 1 - 4  exploring nature and the great outdoors!

 

These Tuesday sessions will be run by our experienced Level 3 Forest School leader and volunteers that are passionate about the benefits of children engaging with their environment. Tiffany is paediatric and outdoor first aid trained as well as a qualified childcare practitioner with experience in delivering Forest School in the early years.

 

Typical sessions will include lots of self-directed play, exploring nature and natural materials, a story and log-circle time. Little Shoots will povide experiences that will ensure your child's development and well-being is supported holistically.

 

We believe that each unique child should be allowed to follow their interests and learn through self-led play. Play is how children process information and draw conclusions about what they have seen, heard and done throughout the day. At Forest School we believe in play as well as setting small achievable tasks that enourage high self esteem, risk management, problem solving and practical skills. We encourage children to try new things and have new experiences! We're there every step of the way to encourage them to try, try again and to high five them when they succeed!

 

Please be sure you and your little ones come dressed in appropriate clothing for the weather. We'll be outside for the full two hours, rain or shine! Of course there will always be shelter provided as well further shelter on Ashfield's main site for extreme weather conditions if need be. Please see below to download a "kit list" for suggestions on what your child will need to enjoy the outdoors year round. Waterproof jackets and trousers are available on-site.
